Learn to Skate is a great way to get started with ice skating for the recreational skater and for competitive skaters.

Our program follows Learn to Skate USA guidelines. 

Learn to Skate USA is endorsed by US Figure Skating, USA Hockey, and US Speedskating.


Participants should arrive at noon to get checked in and to get skates.

Dress warmly.

Helmets are not required but are recommended. 


2019-2020 Learn to Skate Session Dates     

Session 1:  September 21 - November 2                   

Session 2:  November 9 - December 21                   

(Last day to register is Nov 16.  No new registrants after week 2)                 

Session 3:  January 4 - February 15                       

(Registration for session 3 opens December 1, 2019. Last day to

register is Jan 11. No new registrants after week 2)                       

Session 4:  February 22 - March 28                     

(Registration for session 4 opens on Feb 1, 2020 Last day to

register is Feb 29. No new registrants after week 2.)              



All sessions are on Saturdays from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM. 

Each session day includes skate rental, a 20 minute group lesson, and structured

practice time.  Beginner level skaters participate in supervised games

and practice time with skating assistants when not in their group lesson.

Skating aids may be used on the ice for beginner skaters.



Helmets are not required but are recommended.  GCCC does NOT provide helmets.
